heaven? I mean, it feels like the bills are! Ha! Seriously, I can't wait to write a post about my first $1000 week on this blog (hopefully I look back on this when I make much more than that and laugh at myself), but until then, it is my goal to be open and honest with you. I'm blogging (as you're well aware if you're reading this), but I'm still fairly new. I'm still learning about affiliate links (learning more everyday thanks to shareasale.com), but to be honest, I have no idea what I'm doing.
After spilling all of those ugly details, it no surprise that I've been a little stressed lately trying to make sense of my life. Why God pulled me away from my job, told me to have faith, and asked me to live more righteously and to be a light? Am I missing something He's telling me?
After praying this morning I sat down to randomly opened my Bible to receive His word. (Side note: I have so much fun seeing where he's going to take me in the Bible!) I closed my eyes, placed my finger along the top of the fine pages and swiped it open. Are you kidding me?! You guys, our God is so crazy awesome! Do you know where He took me? Psalm 1. Let me put it here for you...
1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
God used this to tell me, "Look, Child, you're walking where I want you to. Just, keep meditating on my word daily." But, then it gets real. He's telling me, "If you keep doing what you're doing, you will be like the tree planted by the rivers of water and you will bring forth fruit."
Then it hit me. A tree? Do you know how long trees take to grow?! Do you know how fragile they are when they are young?!
God is not promising me (or you) that it will be easy to grow or that it will be overnight. He is telling me to keep walking and keep following Him and He will plant me when He's ready to plant me. I will prosper. I have no doubt. He told me so. Until then, I must take care of my shallow roots and tender branches. I must nurture them with His word and meditate on His law. I'm impatient (I'm trying to work on that) and I'm not a big fan of anyone's timing, except for my own, but only through God can my roots grow strong and reach the flourishing waters of the river. And that, my friend, will be in His time, not mine.
If you're struggling to understand where you're headed or what God has in store, I hope this message touched you like it did me. I pray for all my readers and I pray that you stay strong in God. Don't wilt and wither or you will never see the fruits He has in store for you! Your season is coming once you have been planted, have steady roots, and a powerful trunk centered around Him.
God bless you and remember to live each day free and humble.
