Being Humbled by God

I've never been more humble in my adult life than I am right now.

Why, you ask?

Well, I was kind of thrown into it. I lost my job after 12 1/2 years resulting in our family income being cut in half which is causing us to make some difficult decisions. I never thought I would be in this position but oddly enough, I'm embracing it quite well (sometimes lol). Don't get me wrong, it's not easy to say no to the kids when they want something and it's not easy to delete something from my Amazon cart after being a little more thoughtful (the struggle is real), but I find peace in knowing that I'm exactly where God wants me to be. Does God want me to be jobless and poor? Not at all, but God wants us to prosper doing His work. I believe that God delivered me from a life of trying to please others to a life of trying to please Him. Without me realizing it, He answered the prayers that I've been praying for years! I mean, I didn't pray to lose my job or income, but I wanted more time with my family and time to do work for the Lord. You don't always get to choose the circumstances that cause your major life changes, but you do get to choose what comes next. Read that again.

Do I know where God is going to lead me, absolutely not. I do know that the only path that I want to take is that path that will be blessed by Him. I can do anything with Him by my side as long as I put in the work

Dear Lord, today I ask that you bless the person reading this post. God, you gave me this message; let it be a blessing to someone. Even if it's only one person, it won't be in vain. Lord, only you know what the person reading this needs in their life. Touch their soul, cover them in your peace and protection, give them the strength to step out in faith, no matter how humbling, and do the work that you created them to do here on this earth. You gave each one of us gifts to share with others to bless them, teach them, love them, and fulfill your work. This person was created for something marvelous. Father, open their eyes to their full potential in you. Give them understanding that they will never reach their full potential in this life without you at the center of every decision that they make. Take away any pride that may prevent them from fully establishing a clear connection with you. You've given us just a short time here on earth together, this person is seeking your guidance, Lord, grant them the clarity to hear your voice and the strength to act on the your words. I thank you for this person today, I thank you for your continued work within me, and I thank you for the work that I know you're able to do in this person's life. We ask all of these things and thank you for all of these things, in Jesus's precious name. Amen.

KJV James 4:6 Free and Humble

Don't be afraid to be humbled by God. Don't be afraid to take the next step. He never told us that it would be easy, but He has promised us an eternal life beyond our wildest imagination.

I do not have all of the answers, but I know He does. So, I will continue to open my Bible, pray for guidance, be energized by His word, and share what He wants me to share.

I hope someone found this message helpful and that it blessed your life in some way. If it did, I'd love to hear from you.

God Bless you and never forget the importance of being Free & Humble

God’s Steppingstones: They’re Ready, Will You Walk the Path He Has Prepared

The original title of this post was, "God Lays His Steppingstones One at a Time", but that cannot be further from the truth. God has had His steppingstones laid out before the beginning of time. He already knows every step that will ever be taken. He only reveals them to us one step at a time. Let's be honest, that is not easy for humans, at least not for me anyway. I like to know my next steps before I take them. I want to know what will happen, how soon it will happen, and who will be involved, but things don't always work that way.  God is in control and we must always remind ourselves of that. However, there are some things we can (and must) control. Has God laid a stepping stone for you that you were supposed to step on a LONG time ago? I mean, I don't need to know, that's between you and God, but I know I've been guilty! Sometimes we wait on God's answers, but sometimes God is way ahead of us. He's just waiting on us to take that next step, w...

God Will Provide, Just Trust in Him: How He Used a Metaphor to Remind Me

Have you ever felt like a bird with clipped wings? No matter how hard you flap and wail around, you feel like you can't get anywhere. Sure, you still get some flight time, but it's slower and not as far as you would like. I have to admit that I'm feeling that way right now and my heart is hurting for others that feel the same.  It's easy to ask, "God, why? Why are you allowing me to go through this?" It's like we automatically assume that the scissors that clipped our wings are in His hands, but that's not usually the case.  THE BIRDCAGE Just five months ago, I was working at my nine-to-five (tucked nicely into my little birdcage). I had worked there for over 12 years and didn't really have plans to leave, but God had other plans . I was supplied with food and water (paycheck) consistently and my cage was kept clean and tidy (I had great colleagues and loved the work), but God wanted more for me.  THE RELEASE The freedom of being released from my b...

We’re Raising God’s Kids and They’re Watching Our Every Move

Something happened last night that I have to share! I had just gotten home from a softball meeting with my oldest daughter and as I was cooking supper I noticed that my youngest daughter’s Bible was open on the couch. I didn’t ask her about it right then because my oldest daughter’s boyfriend was over, I was cooking supper, and I was filling my husband in on the softball meeting. You know how life distracts you.  Anyway, after I was done cooking supper my youngest brought her phone over to me and wanted me to look at a couple of pictures. After I took her phone in my hand I realized these were no ordinary pictures. She had been reading her Bible and took the text from her Bible, and the lessons that she had learned, and made graphics with inspirational messages. Guys, do you know how much that blessed my heart?! My daughter is watching me. She sees me living for God, reading my Bible, and sharing the word. Now, she’s excited to do the same!  After our good night prayers, my gi...
