Have you ever heard a motivational speaker and immediately after their talk you’re ready to take on the world?! I’m guilty.
Most recently, I’ve been receiving my motivation through Christ and let me just say this is a whole new level of motivation!
When I read words from thousands of years ago and God gives me exactly what I need to hear today, that’s motivation like no other. It’s energizing!
I was recently praying for a young person that was going through a hard time and God gave me a simple message. Take that negativity that you receive from others and combined it with God's positivity to create a new energy for yourself. That's a mouthful and sounds strange, but I'll explain what I mean.
You will have many negative things in your life. If you choose to focus only on the negative, you'll never have energy to do anything. You will not be able to help yourself, let alone others.
Likewise, you will never experience all positivity in your life. God has given us freewill and unfortunately, that means we mess up a lot and so do others. So you cannot live on positivity alone, you must know how to confront negativity when it comes knocking.
Let's think about a battery. A battery cannot work without both a negative and positive connection. Now, we've already concluded that you cannot live solely on positivity and you cannot live solely on negativity, there has to be a balance. Much like a battery, we can take both our negative and positive experiences in life and create energy that motivates us.
You might say, "Okay, that's great, but I have no positivity in my life!"
That's where Jesus comes in. I have never known love, peace, joy (insert all of the fruits of the spirit here) until I really started to have a relationship with Jesus Christ. I grew up going to church, my grandfather was a pastor, but until you feel a relationship with God, none of that matters. That relationship is where you are going to receive the positivity in your life. I cannot stress enough how important it is to have that relationship with our Savior. Only He can provide that type of positivity in your life regardless of your circumstances.
So, when the world gives you negativity, go to God for positivity. Once you make that connection, your life will be energized beyond your wildest dreams.
However, I must warn you. This is not a one time thing. You have to check your connection regularly. If your positive terminal is not well connected, your energy will fail... your light will dim... you will not ignite into the vehicle for God that you are meant to be.
I encourage you to check your connection today. Read your Bible, sing songs of worship, and fall to your knees and tighten that positive connection. Energize. Spark. Ignite. Shine your light. Drive. Do what God intended for you to do on this earth and remember to live free and humble.
