God Told Me to Be a Light: Why I Decided to Post My Story for All to See

MY STORY Some may consider the story of losing my job private, and while I agree that in some ways it's a private matter, it is WHY I did what I did (listened to God) and what comes next ( finding my purpose with God) that is most important. God told me to step out in faith... God told me to be more righteous... God told me to be a light! God used my current circumstance to redirect my path. My story is less about why I lost my job and more about God's timing and His direction for my life.  As I was scrolling through Instagram recently, I read a quote that BuildingHerself posted. It read, "Who you are is God's gift to you. What you become is your gift to God." I want to become exactly what God intended me to be. I also want to be a light for Him and encourage others to live to their full (Godly) potential.  We are here on this earth for such a short time. Did God create you to just work your life away for someone else, to run the kids to sports, to worry about...

Finding God's Purpose for my Work Life

We spend a lot of time on this earth working. A lot. That makes the purpose of our work so very important. When I was young and contemplating what I wanted to do for a profession (besides being a mom because that’s all I really wanted to be), I was more concerned about how much money I would make rather than if it was righteous work for the Lord. However, recent world events and changes within my work life have given me a new perspective and left me asking the question, "are you working with purpose?" A couple of weeks ago when I was working full time outside of the home my answer to that question would have clearly been, "no." Since then I feel that God has lead me to step out in faith and live more righteously. To be honest, I have no idea what that fully means or what my next steps will be, but the anticipation is kind of exciting. Don’t get me wrong, I’m nervous.
